Conditions of Cartage
LOGISTICS
We reserve the right to vary resources (number of men and trucks) from what was originally quoted. This helps ensure an effective, safe and efficient removal. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure our employees are working in a clean and safe environment. We reserve the right to decline to commence or complete a move if, in our opinion the work environment is unclean/unhygienic and/or unsafe.
DELIVERY
Should the consignee of the goods not be in attendance at the address during normal trading hours when delivery is attempted an additional charge will apply. Normal delivery hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Any special deliveries outside these hours will incur additional charges. Any deliveries to rural or outside our Auckland boundaries will incur additional charges.Down time occurring as a result of delays caused by circumstances outside of the control of Platinum Deliveries 2006 Ltd is charged at our hourly rate.
CARRIAGE OF GOODS
All goods are packed and moved at Owner’s Risk (as per the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, Part 5, Subpart 1). As the carrier, we have no obligation to pay compensation if goods are lost or damaged unintentionally.
Goods are insured while in transit only in the event of truck accident, theft or fire whilst loaded.
We have Public Liability Insurance (maximum liability $2M).
We encourage you to check with your insurance provider prior to goods being transported.
Please be assured that we do take all appropriate care in handling your possessions, and maintain a low incidence of damage. Our staff are trained to use best industry practice to avoid injury and damage to clients’ goods and property.
CLAIMS
No claims can be made against Platinum Deliveries 2006 Ltd for delays or late deliveries due to industrial problems or mechanical breakdowns or similar circumstances beyond our control. No claim will be accepted if a clear signature is given for proof of delivery and no damage noted by consignee at time of delivery. Goods must be checked on delivery. Unless goods are adequately packed no claim will be recognised.
